A new patent has been issued to Labconco for the Type C1 biosafety cabinet that changed the way life science laboratories are designed. The first biosafety cabinet with a versatile exhaust system was an R&D 100 Award for Innovation Finalist when it was first released to the market, and has had a growing presence in new lab designs ever since.
