Field Service Specialist and Sales Support - Latin America

Location: Off Site

Labconco is a manufacturer of Laboratory Equipment and support sales and technical support of our products globally.

The Sales and Service Specialist will support the International Sales Manager and Latin American Sales Manager in the direction of sales programs within an assigned geography. Support continued market growth of Labconco products by assisting dealers’ sales service efforts activities within an assigned region. Serve as a primary resource for dealers and customers requiring assistance troubleshooting the operation and/or function of their product after the sale.

Previous negotiation and presentation skills are required.

Language Skills

Multi or Bilingual - 

Spanish: native speaking, reading, and writing is required. 

English: advanced proficiency speaking, reading, and writing is required.  

Portuguese: speaking, reading, and writing preferred.


Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.


Computer Skills/Other Skills and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Previous experience with customer relationship management (CRM) programs. Familiarity with Salesforce.com a plus


Work Environment – 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee can be exposed to moving mechanical parts while occasionally working with or visiting the production lines to stay familiar with the products. While testing products with Engineering an employee could be exposed to chemicals or products. The risk of electric shock is very low, but could occur should the employee plug and unplug units while moving units at tradeshows for demos, sales meetings, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time required. Travel to the US will be required for training and annual sales meetings. 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote the sale of Labconco products through distribution network by attending trade shows, seminars, and providing field demonstrations as required.
  • Regularly travel within assigned region and provides training for dealer personnel in the application of Labconco products. 
  • Perform all duties necessary to respond to dealer’s requests for information or quotes in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Seek out project opportunities, notify dealers of sales leads and follow up with dealers to ensure customer satisfaction and promote market growth goals.
  • Advise the International Sales Manager and Latin American Sales Manager on the allocation of resources to the international sales budget; adheres to budget guidelines while performing required travel within assigned territory; files and completes expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide feedback to the International Sales Manager and Latin American Sales Manager and relevant Labconco personnel on new product ideas and opportunities that could enhance company market share, profitability, or product line expansion.
  • Work in parallel with the International Operations team to ensure orders and shipments are accurate for assigned territory. Work with established freight forwarders to help dealers determine the best method of shipment for orders. 
  • Ensures that dealers are supplied with sales literature and tools in their local language, where possible, within budget.
  • Provide before, during, and after sale support relating to product installation, functionality, warranty and non-warranty service issues.
  • Facilitate, and/or collaborate with Labconco Service Department, service training for customers, dealers, service partners, and other Labconco associates as needed.
  • Understand and effectively communicate the operation and mechanical function of Labconco products.
  • Collaborate with Latin American Territory Manager and International Sales Manager on sales, service, marketing, and competitive anaylsis for the region.
  • Assist in translation, proof-reading, and development of Spanish literature and marketing content.
  • Documentation and updating of sales and service activities within CRM database.


Other Duties

Perform other job duties as assigned by Management.


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university including three to five years of related experience; or Trade/Service Engineering School degree/certification with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical or Science degree preferred.


Work Schedule

Normal working hours are typically 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday; unless otherwise discussed and/or established by the manager or seasonal schedule changes. From time to time additional hours may be required, as needed. This position is expected to work remotely within assigned territory.
